Style Corner KICKS: New Balance 574 Classic

The New Balance 574 is one of the most classic silhouettes in sneaker history. If you don’t own a pair, well, you’re sleeping. And, if you live in the New York area, you have a chance to right that wrong. Last week, SLAM got the first up-close and personal test drive of any media outlet of the new balance pas cher customization kiosk at Foot Locker in Times Square.

The New Balance 574 “Pique Polo” pack consists of many colorways suited for Spring 2015. Following a Red edition, another vibrant option in Orange is presented.As the title suggests, this particular revision of the new balance 574 pas cher inherits a textile upper similar to the cotton texture found on traditional polo shirts. Dipped in a vivid Orange hue across its entirety, reinforced with tonal leather accents and a rubber heel cage, polo shirt collar detailing is translated on the tongue and large heel tab with White accents, while the contrasting shade is further applied to the laces, outlining of the “N” logo and cushioned ENCAP midsole unit.

Alongside its Grey/Navy variant, the New Balance 574 “Luau” pack for Spring/Summer 2015 is further highlighted as we showcase the silhouette in a Black/Blue finish.Overall exuding a Hawaiian theme, hence its “Luau” moniker which actually references to a traditional Hawaiian party or feast, this revision of the new balance 574 yacht club exudes a more understated flair through its predominantly Black upper. Paired with Light Blue hits gracing the midsole, laces and branding, the pastel-like hue is continued for its lining which also bears a tropical pattern to coordinate with its respective theme.



The holiday “Backpack” collection offers great Fall tones over the new balance 574 backpack model. With colors ranging from navy, maroon and yellow, the pack boast durable nylon material throughout the upper resting atop a cushion laced ENCAP sole. A tan “N” logo appears in its customary place on each shoe along with clean white laces.
