Last Epoch Season 5: Rage of The Frostborn Key Update Guide

Attention players: as time marches on, the highly anticipated Last Epoch Season 5, "Rage of the Frostborn," is set to launch on October 1st—less than a day away. To ensure you hit the ground running when the season goes live, let’s take a look at the key updates.

Rage of Morditas

As the season's core mechanic, players will encounter "Blood Crystals" while exploring Eterra. Activating one triggers a timed combat challenge. Slay enemies quickly to extend the timer and accumulate "Bloodrage Charges"; during this time, you will randomly gain powerful Bloodrage buffs to aid in battle. Once the first phase ends, the second begins: previously slain enemies respawn within an arena of blood-ice, and you must clear them all. Upon completion, you can interact with the Blood Crystal to spend Bloodrage Charges on rewards, or perform "Bloody Rituals" and "Frozen Rituals" to adjust the reward type and quality.

Reward items can gain new types of forging potential: "Ice Forging Potential" has a chance to be retained during crafting, while "Blood Forging Potential" increases the success rate of crafting critical hits. Exclusive item types also appear within this mechanic; repeatedly completing the encounter advances your progress, eventually unlocking special Echoes related to Morditas.

New Endgame Boss: Morditas

Completing "Rage of Morditas" encounters unlocks a three-stage special Echo chain. The final Echo, "Circle of Frozen Blood," allows you to challenge Morditas on normal difficulty. Defeating him grants the "Demigod’s Ascendance" Woven Echo; placing this into the Echo Web allows you to challenge the pinnacle version of Morditas—the "God of Bloodshed." This is a fixed-difficulty pinnacle challenge, with a difficulty level falling between the existing Aberroth encounters. "Rage" accumulates with kills, affecting both the Echo's difficulty and rewards; if the difficulty becomes too high, you can appease Morditas via the Nexus panel to lower his Rage.

New Unique Last Epoch Items

This season introduces a total of 18 new Unique and Set items; some are extremely rare and capable of significantly altering gameplay. Certain Unique items utilize a new variant affix system—for example, the "Unsated Rage" ring allows you to permanently gain one of several Bloodrage buffs. If you want to easily acquire these powerful items, having plenty of Last Epoch Gold is crucial. By using EZG.com, you can quickly obtain the gold you need to lower the game's difficulty and effortlessly boost your character's power.
