The adidas running shoes was introduced in the early 1970s, after its namesake, already a tennis superstar, won Wimbledon and the US Open, making his a compelling endorsement for a sports shoe. Adidas sold tens of millions of them. Then it faded into obscurity, as things do. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago when Adidas made a concerted effort to revitalize the brand that today’s youth became infatuated.

This luxurious rendition of the adidas running shoes men features a cream leather upper with black and red accents. The three stripe branding on the side panel is simplified with thin black contrast stitching, but the real show-stealing asset is the Yeezy 350 Boost’s rounded suede panel on the medial side. While you’d never confuse a pair of Superstars for a Yeezy Boost, it is cool to see Kasina tinker with the construction in an homage to Kanye’s latest and greatest.

By tying their future to the NBA, adidas running shoes women has also created a system where they are now forced to battle other brands for superstar signing rights. Steph Curry famously made a deal with Under Armour and catapulted their previously unthinkable sneakers to the top of many preteens’ wish lists. Sure, LeBron won the day and Michael is still the G.O.A.T.…but it’s a tricky position for adidas extaball shoes to be in and a tough one to pivot out of. What if the NBA loses favor in the next 10 years? What if there is no heir apparent to King James? Where will Nike fans go?
