Using the Weathered Crisis Fragment: Unlocking the Burning

The Weathered Crisis Fragment is one of three essential keys required to unlock the Burning Monolith in Path of Exile 2, a pinnacle endgame challenge featuring the boss Arbiter of Ash.

Collect All Three Crisis Fragments

The Weathered Crisis Fragment is obtained from the Stone Citadel boss in Tier 15 maps. Along with the Weathered fragment, players need the Ancient and Faded Crisis Fragments from the Iron and Copper Citadels respectively. All three fragments are needed to unlock the Burning Monolith encounter.

Locate the Burning Monolith on the Atlas

Once all fragments are collected, travel to the Burning Monolith map on the Atlas of Worlds, typically near the start of the endgame Atlas progression adjacent to biome entrance zones such as the Ziggurat.

Insert the Fragments into the Burning Monolith

Inside the Burning Monolith area is a sealed door with three sockets. Place each Crisis Fragment—Weathered, Ancient, and Faded—into their corresponding sockets. When all three are inserted correctly, the door unlocks.

Activate the Encounter

After placing the fragments, activate the mechanism and enter the Burning Monolith arena. This will initiate the Arbiter of Ash fight, the toughest boss challenge currently in PoE2.
