The new Nike Air Max 90 collection

When you look at as many shoes in a day as we do, for as long as we have, even we can sometimes be harsh critics of new silhouettes. When Nike dropped the AM90 Mid Winter silhouette into the market – a winterised edition of the AM90 with the addition of a heightened neoprene sockliner – we were somewhat protective of the original Air Max 90, we didn’t give the Mid Winter version the time and appreciation it deserved. Slowly we’re warming to the hybrid runner thanks to stellar colourways such as this ‘Squadron Blue’ number, which does a great job of using muted tones to really distinguish the new shape overall.



The nike air max 90 has already joined in on the annual “Wheat” celebration this year, but why not one more for good measure? Today we get a good look a the Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot, as the extended and bolstered upper is hit with a smooth synthetic waterproof upper in that Timberland-inspired aesthetic. Aimed at withstanding harsher conditions but still holding down your sneaker fixation throughout the coldest of months, the silhouette features a clean white midsole, gum outsole, and contrasting Baroque Brown leather heel construction while subtle Swoosh branding matches the rest of the upper.

Candy-cane Swooshes for Holiday 2015? Nike went there. The latest women’s exclusive Nike Air Max 90 nicknamed the “Misplaced Checks” edition features an array of Swooshes featuring 3D candy-cane finishes while an icy outsole is accented by a holiday-ready green and red speckling. The green shade plays a muted role here on the tongue branding and inner lining while a perfect amount of gold foil lands on the ‘Air Max’ side panel branding and heel for a premium touch.

Following the unveiling of this summer’s Nike Air Max 1 Woven, the Portland-based imprint continues the woven motif onto another archival silhouette, the nike air max 90 femme. The sneaker’s lateral vamp receives the weaved treatment across its lower part, offset by retro detailing — classic branding on the tongue tab and heel — and rounded out by Nike iconic Max Air unit. Available in five colorways, look for the “Weave” pack to drop next year months.
